TEACHING EXPERIENCE:
1987 – Present: Wesley Theological Seminary, Washington, DC
1999 – 2001; 2009 - Present: Adjunct Faculty Member, The Jerusalem Center for Biblical Studies
1979 – 1986: Ecumenical Institute, St. Mary’s Seminary and University, Baltimore,MD - adjunct faculty, taught a survey course on the Old Testament Prophets
1977: Union Theological Seminary, Richmond, VA. As graduate assistant, helped to teach beginning course in biblical Hebrew
PARISH EXPERIENCE: During the years from 1973 – 2009 Steve served as lead pastor/senior pastor of 6 United Methodist churches in the Baltimore-Washington.
From September 1, 2001 – June 30, 2005 Steve stepped outside the United Methodist denomination to serve ecumenically as senior pastor of the American Church in London, an interdenominational, international congregation in central London, UK. In addition to his regular pastoral and preaching duties, Steve wrote for two UK publications and provided regular religious commentary on a national BBC radio program.
On June 30, 2009 Steve formally retired from full-time pastoral ministry.
