Dr. Jason Borders

Dr. Borders currently holds the position of Professor of New Testament in the Religion Department at Huntingdon College, Montgomery, AL, where he has taught for the past 18 years. In addition, Dr. Borders serves as the Theologian in Residence for First United Methodist Church, also in Montgomery. Dr. Borders holds a Ph.D. in New Testament from the London School of Theology, an M.Div. in Biblical/Theological Studies from Candler School of Theology/Emory University, and a B.S. in Physics from Millsaps College. Additionally, Dr. Borders completed the Graduate Year Program of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Intensive Summer Ulpan of the University of Haifa while living in Israel during this time. Dr. Borders’ experience living, studying, and traveling in Israel is extensive, having first traveled to the Holy Land at the age of 9. Since then, he has led numerous groups through the land of the Bible. Dr. Borders was awarded the two highest teaching honors offered at Huntingdon (the Dr. & Mrs. John N. Todd Award for Excellence in Teaching and the Exemplary Teaching Award of the General Board of Higher Education and Campus Ministry of the United Methodist Church) and supports the ministries of First United Methodist Church in the area of teaching and preaching. He is an Ordained Elder in Full Connection, serves on the Board of Ordained Ministry for the Alabama-West Florida Annual Conference, teaches in both the Alabama Course of Study and the Emory Course of Study Schools, and is an instructor for the Jerusalem Center for Biblical Studies.

Rev. Brian Erickson

Rev. Brian Erickson is Senior Pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church in Birmingham, AL. Previously he served First UMC in Alabaster, AL during a period of significant growth in membership and missions outreach. He was also chaplain at two United Methodist universities where he taught classes in Wesleyan theology, Christian liturgy, and led service-learning classes to Harlem and Chile. Brian has degrees from Birmingham-Southern College and Candler School of Theology at Emory University.

Dr. Bobby Morris

Bobby Morris serves as pastor of Mt. Pilgrim Lutheran Church (ELCA) in Prosperity, SC, and teaches Old Testament electives and Hebrew at the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary of Lenoir Rhyne University in Columbia, SC. He frequently contributes commentary to workingpreacher.org of Luther Seminary and has published technical work in Hebrew and Greek for the New Interpreter’s Bible Commentary. He has traveled and taught in the Middle East since 1998. Bobby does some of his best theological reflection when on one of his many antique Allis Chalmers tractors, which he uses to tend the farm that has been in his family for nearly one-hundred years.

Dr. Samuel Pagan

Dr. Samuel Pagan is a Bible scholar from Puerto Rico. He has been recognized as one of the leading translators of the Bible in the Spanish-speaking world. As a prolific writer, he has over 70 books and thousands of articles published of biblical, theological and pastoral themes; and he has edited five Study Editions of the Bible. He is an ordained minister of the Disciples of Christ Church, and with his wife, Dr. Nohemi C. Pagan, teaches not only in the Hispanic communities in the USA, Europe and Latin America, but in the Holy Land and the Middle East.
